How Jake got here

I served in the United States Marine Corps in various roles, working on large-scale diesel-powered generators. When I got out I went to Dunwoody Institute and started working on automobiles — Chrysler certified for a number of years, then across to a small shop handling all brands of automobiles and heavy equipment.

I relocated and took a job working on tractors and 22-ton pea combines, from the start of spring to the end of fall, travelling all over the Midwest. After that a landscape company recruited me to run their shop. I got my Class A licence and hauled their equipment out to job sites, working on everything from small engines up to full-size front-end loaders.

These days I mainly focus on small engine repair, though I still do some light vehicle diagnostic and repair work.
